Standard Items

Non-custom and non-personalized items are typically ready to ship within 1-3 business days.

Simple Custom and Personalized Items

Simple custom and personalized items typically ship within 3-5 business days, depending on the nature of the item, but often ship sooner.

Complex Orders

Complex orders, such as those with many standard items, a mix of standard and customized/personalized items, or several customized/personalized items, may take 7-10 business days to produce before shipping.

Commissioned Work

Items requiring a high degree of personalization, or those of a high quantity, are typically quoted works, and the time to ship will be negotiated during discussion of your item(s).

2024 Holiday Shipping Deadlines

The last day to order most items with standard free shipping — so that they are likely to arrive before Christmas — is Dec. 13. Add additional time based on the type and quantity of items ordered as described above. For example, if you order a personalized item (3-5 business days before shipping), you will want to order by Dec. 8.

Shipping Costs

We strive to offer cost-effective options to meet you where you are.

At this time, we are proud to offer FREE standard shipping (estimated 3-4 days in transit) to addresses in the lower U.S. 48 states and Washington D.C. Expedited shipping (estimated 1-2 days in transit) to these areas is an additional flat fee of $20.

Shipping to AK, HI, and the U.S. territories of the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, is $15 standard and $30 expedited (in transit shipping times vary).

Unfortunately, we cannot offer international shipping or shipping to other U.S. territories at this time.

Shipping Time In Transit

Times vary depending on location and the day of the week you order. Estimates are provided during checkout, but please remember these are estimates for time in transit and do not include production and shipping preparation time. Additionally, shipping times noted during checkout are not guaranteed.

Local Delivery

Orders within a 20 mile radius of our production location in Columbus, Ohio, will have the option to choose local delivery. The production times for this option remain as described above, but are typically delivered personally by The Contraptory the same or next day upon completion of the item.
